has quite a bit of pain, but still would love to get some

RET. P.O. PAUL TROIANO
RET. SGT. STANLEY McDONALD
RET. P.O. BOB CACCHIOLI |
|
From Lou Hollander:
Ret Det. Jerry Gallagher
has been ill and is undergoing chemotherapy. He would
appreciate hearing from his “Transit Police family”. His
email address is
ljg326@bellsouth.net
If you email Jerry

Ret. PO Paul Troiano,
craftyandcheep@aol.com will be going into Shands Hospital
at the University of Florida in Gainesville to have the
remainder of his right lung removed. A number of years ago
Paul had to have a portion of his lung removed
Below is an email
received from Olive McDonald, wife of
Ret Sgt Stanley McDonald
Stanleigh28@aol.com
Hello everyone,
I am doing a little cut and paste here to try and cover all of
Stanley's buddies. As you know, he had foot surgery Tuesday of
last week and that went well. He had some pain but he is
almost pain free in that area now.
On Thursday morning the 28th, he suffered a serious stroke but
it is not life threatening according to the neurologist. He
was diagnosed with "expressive aphasia." The stroke was
located at the rear left lobe of the brain. There is no
disfigurement or paralysis but he has difficulty getting the
words out. He knows what he wants to say, but sometimes it
comes out different. Sometimes he gets it out right.
He left the hospital in Titusville on Tuesday of this week and
was transferred to a rehab hospital in Melbourne which is
about 45 minutes away. All the reports about Health South Sea
Pines have been good and so far he is progressing very
well. This morning, we said the Lord's Prayer together and he
did not hesitate or stutter from beginning to end.
Sea Pines is an aggressive rehab hospital and he should be
there 2-3 weeks. He is doing Occupational Therapy, Speech
Therapy and Physical Therapy.
He is on blood thinners now with the aim of him
not getting another stoke. I know some of you have already
heard about this and I am sorry about the delay in getting
this out, but it has been hectic. I have been staying with
him overnights and I look forward to when he can come home and
recuperate in a familiar setting.
He has a very sharp mind and it is working, just that he can't
always get out what he wants to say.
PLEASE remember us in your prayers and I don't know when he
will be able to get on the Internet again but you can send him
a card if you wish at 3615 Miriam Drive, Titusville, Fl 32796,
and if I don't get to reply to each person individually, I can
assure you that your prayers and wishes are dear to us and we
thank you.
God Bless.
Olive
(Stanley's wife)
I am informed by
Ret. Sgt Richie Pra,
richardpra@comcast.net that former P.O. Bob Cacchioli
is in hospice in the Ocala area and would like to get some
phone calls from the guys he worked with in 5 & 1. He has been
in there a couple of weeks and it doesn't look too good.
His cell phone number is 516-589-2711
Our prayers and best wishes go out to
these members and fellow officers. |

NOTE OF THANKS FROM JIMMY COSPITO |
|
The following was sent out by Lou
Hollander:
God bless all of you, my wonderful brothers and sisters
in Blue, who, just as in the old days, came from all over to
answer the call of a brother down. In our other manual
of procedure, Romans 10-13 states: "but only call on the
name of the Lord and you will be saved."
I know when I read my E-mail from all of you to
my wife, she will cry just as I did, that since December of
1965, we are still one family sharing our ups and downs.
Thanks to all of
you. God bless you and the Transit Police Dept.
MERRY CHRISTMAS,
Jimmy Cospito |

|
We received the following news from Lou
Hollander. We also regret not having posted an

PRAYERS NEEDED FOR MANY
I received an email from
retired Det. Jimmy Caspito,
jamescospito@gmail.com who had asked me to send out an
email to his “Brothers & Sisters in Blue” to pray for his
wife, Janice. Janice suffered a stroke and bleeding on the
brain over a week ago. She has been in Virginia Beach General
hospital in ICU since then. Jimmy thanks you for your prayers
and wishes you and yours a Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah and
a Happy New Year.

Ginsberg informs me that (Lifetime Member, Ret. P.O.)

keep Norman in your prayers also. Normans email address is

RET. INSP. JOE SCUTARO and
RET. P.O. PAUL DiGIACOMO |
We received the following information from
Bob Valentino:
Hi Tony,
Just a note that Ret. Inspector Joe Scutaro is at
Staten Island Hospital with severe kidney problems. He has
good days & bad days and at least 1 of his 5 daughters are
with him at all times. If you could, please post a note
for prayers and best wishes for Joe.
Lou Hollander sent the following information as
received from Janice Di Giacomo,
wife of Paul Di Giacomo,
PaulJanDi@msn.com
I wanted to let you know that Paul's
cancer has returned and it's now in the bone affecting his
spine. He is currently going through radiation therapy and
will more than likely have to follow that with chemotherapy
treatments. He's in Staten Island Hospital right now but is
expected to come home soon and resume his treatments on an
outpatient basis. He's in quite of bit of pain but as
expected, he's handling it with the help of pain management.
The pain should ease as the radiation therapy progresses. I
will do my best to let you know his progress and of course
when he comes home.
Our prayers and best wishes go out to Joe and Paul and
their families for a quick return to good health.
